What is a sleeve?

All of our USB cables are USB 2.0 compliant, 28AWG, and shielded! Sleeving covers the internal cable. It helps to protect the wires and adds extra durability, extending the life of your cable and helping to protect it from any outside elements. Not to mention – it also looks the part by adding that finishing touch to any gaming setup!

What is a coil?

PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY OFFERING COILS AS AN OPTION WHEN BUILDING YOUR CABLE. ALL CABLES WILL BE COMMISSIONED AS STRAIGHT CABLES.

When choosing the option to add a coil, please note that it is included in the total overall length e.g. if you have an 8-foot cable, it will also include the inches of coil chosen. The reason being, some keyboards such as the MASSDROP CTRL & ALT range of keyboards are more power-hungry. It takes approximately one foot of cable to make one inch of the coil. We do not recommend more than 10ft total (including the coil) – We can accommodate larger lengths for less power-hungry keyboards. This keeps performance in check and makes sure you have a super reliable cable! When choosing a coil – it is recommended that you double sleeve it for extra durability, e.g. If choosing Paracord as a base, then either MDPC-X or Techflex should be chosen for double sleeving the cable – **PLEASE NOTE**: when choosing to double sleeve, Paracord can only be a base layer with either MDPC-X or Techflex as the secondary sleeve, however, if choosing MDPC-X as your base layer, it cannot be combined with another layer of MDPC-X, ONLY Techflex as a second layer! Techflex will always be a second sleeve choice and never a base. If you would like the colour of your base sleeve to show through more, then Techflex will provide a larger weave to see through the second layer, giving it the appearance of a slight change of Hue. When choosing the orientation of your coil, you have the choice of left to right, right to left or straight up and central. Coils that are left to right & vice versa will have a 90 degree host and device lead. If you choose for it to be straight central the host and device leads will be inline with the coil, making the entire length straight! What is paracord made of?

All of our paracord is 550. What does that mean? Paracord is made from a Nylon material, the paracord we use is also known as “550 cord”. This is given to Paracord that has a tensile strength of 550 pounds!!

What is Techflex made of?

All of our Techflex is also known as “flexo PET”. It’s a polyethylene Terephthalate (PET)…Yay, science! It has a wide range of operating temperatures and is resistant to abrasion! Essentially, it’s a braided cable that allows us to change the hue and thickness of the base layer you choose in either MDPC-X or Paracord 550.

What is MDPC-X made of?

MDPC-X Sleeving is made in Germany and is also a PET-style sleeving. MDPC-X has a tighter weave and is made of PET-X fibers. MDPC-X adds perfect rigidity to the cable. It removes all the wobbles in the cable and enables you to shape it with perfectly smooth curves or absolute straight lines.
